Visiting Nepal Television

Nepal Televison can not be compared with CNN or BBC. But it is still considered the best among Nepalese TV channels. So far as web site of NTV is concerned, forget CNN and BBC; it is even far behind its Nepalese counterpart Kantipur. I visited the NTV official site today and I am ashamed after doing it.

Some of the findings are as follows:

  1. The official site of NTV was last updated some years ago.
  2. They have not even bothered to change their program schedule.
  3. Forget program schedule, they are still showing their old advertising RATE.
  4. Even Dhakal & Brothers' site www.nepalmandap.com has the feature of scrolling latest news. Don't expect such things in that site.
  5. Except the NTV logo, nothing moves in the whole site. Except the Organization chart and map of nepal showing their range of Transmission, no picture can be found in the whole site. (Notice bold text in this point and Undersatnd that NTV is now boardcasted via satellite.)
  6. The place where visitor's counter is supposed to be, this is the exact text that appeared: This site is visited [an error occurred while processing this directive] times since January, 2000

In the very first page and first line, they claim to be the youngest TV station in Asia. But when considered that locals like KTV and Image have made so much achievements, it makes me laugh and nothing else.

Even a child of 12 year can now make and maintain a better site than this one. NTV officials, better remove this site from Internet or UPDATE it.

Kantipur's official site: http://www.kantipuronline.com/ktv.php

Visit these sites and compare yourself.
